The Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine is more than a simple espresso machine, it’s a full function coffee center able to pump out coffee, espresso, crema coffee (coffee mug sized espresso complete with a rich crema), and hot water for tea’s and cocoa.
Rapid Steam® technology makes this espresso maker stand out from the crowd. With two separate boilers for producing heat and steam, user’s can go directly from one espresso to the next with practically no wait time in between. In addition, milk can be frothed for cappuccinos while an espresso is making. Other machines require a wait time to allow steam to build up.
Push button technology makes the Gaggia Titanium a breeze to operate. Push the brew button that corresponds to the beverage of choice and wait for it to brew. This machine automatically grinds and extracts the coffee to perfection. Don’t worry about emptying the coffee grounds, the machine dumps them into a grind box and even sends an alert when full.
The volume of the beverage of choice can be adjusted to suit individual tastes. If more water is desired, hold the button in longer and release it when the volume is reached. Then, use one of the programmable buttons to lock the settings into memory.
The Gaggia features adjustable controls. Temperature and dosing can both be adjusted according to taste. There are five temperature adjustments and an adjustable doser for controlling how much coffee is used for the current brew.
Coffee aficionados will appreciate the pre-infusion operation of the Gaggia. First, the coffee is moistened and allowed a 2 second rest period to allow the aromatic oils to seep out of the coffee. Finally, the high pressure pump begins operation to insure that the most flavor possible is removed from the coffee with a beautiful crema topping.
To make that beautiful espresso into a tasty cappuccino, steamed and frothed milk is needed. The Gaggia makes this so simple even a novice can do it. Users can froth milk using the standard manual frothing wand or use the automated cappiccatore. With this automatic frothing attachment, simply fill the steaming cup with cold milk, insert into the cappiccatore and wait for the perfectly steamed and frothed milk to finish.
Coffee beans or ground coffee, it’s up to the individual. Fill the hopper with beans for no-hassle coffee every time. Use the by-pass for switching to that favorite coffee without having to empty the hopper.
Cleaning
With all the benefits of the Gaggia, some might think the catch is in the clean up. Not so. Clean up couldn’t be easier. The dreg drawer has an alert that indicates when it is full and needs emptied and the drip pan also has an alert method to indicate time to empty it.
Cleaning the brew group is a cinch as well. Remove the metal plates and use the included brush to clean up in a snap.
An espresso machine with that many benefits and an easy cleanup process is a spectacular find. Although the Gaggia Titanium is priced a bit higher than other machines, it lasts many years longer than most and eliminates the need for that daily trip to the coffee shop. The savings will pay for the Gaggia over time.
